BARLA Great Britain Under 23s opened their tour with a 46-12 victory over Ukraine Students as the hosts build up for their European Shield – East tilt.

RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood has expressed his delight at the new Government’s confirmation that it will support the Rugby League World Cup in 2013.

Ukrainian Rugby League was established in January 2007 when a club called "Legion XIII" started to train in Kharkiv. Soon after a Board was formed and represents the cities in Ukraine (Kharkiv, Lugansk and Sumi) that have Rugby League teams. There is four RL clubs at the moment: "Legion XIII", HNAY (University club), "Gornyaki", "Mustangi". "Legion XIII" is playing in the Russian National Championship this year.
Ukraine Rugby League is responsible for the development of Rugby League in Ukraine.
